A fashion boutique with a shop floor and an online store

The dress sold out on Friday. The scarves never will.

How a shop owner with no data team stops guessing what to reorder and what to mark down.

Here is last month's sales and today's stock. What will I run out of before Saturday, and what has not sold in 60 days?

Inventory, week 40

  • Scarves: marked down 25%, 14 sold in a week
  • Supplier needs 10 days. Reorder at 6 left, not 2

The problem

It is Saturday, the busiest day of the week, and the dress in the window is gone in every size but one. Three customers have asked for it since lunch. In the back room there are four boxes of scarves that arrived in spring and have barely moved.

Try it yourself in Luminair

Six steps. No setup beyond the AI plan you already have.

  1. 1

    Install Luminair and sign in

Download Luminair and open it. Go to Settings → Models → Add account and sign in with an AI plan you already pay for, like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

  2. 2

Make a folder for this job

In the sidebar, choose New folder… and name it “Inventory”. Then choose New session in this folder. Everything for this job stays together.

  3. 3

    Bring the information in

You need: till sales export, online orders and stock list. Connect WooCommerce, Airtable and Gmail in Settings → Connectors, or export the files and drag them into the chat.

  4. 4

    Ask for the result

Paste this into the session, or say it in your own words:

Here is last month's sales and today's stock. What will I run out of before Saturday, and what has not sold in 60 days?
  5. 5

    Get a second opinion

Pick a different model in the model picker and ask it to check the first answer:

Is anything on this list only selling fast because of last week's promotion?
  6. 6

    Make it repeat

Open Flows → New and add the steps: Read this week's sales and stock → List reorders and markdowns with reasons → Draft the supplier email for my review. Choose when it runs, like every Monday at 09:00. Nothing is sent or changed until you approve it.

How it plays out

Give the shop one folder

Make a Project Folder called Inventory. Drop in this month's sales export from your till and your online store, plus your current stock list. If your store runs on WooCommerce, connect it and skip the export.

Ask in plain words

Ask what is selling faster than expected, what is piling up, and what is likely to run out before next weekend. You get a short written answer with the figures it used, not a dashboard to decode.

Make it a weekly habit

Turn that into a Flow that runs every Monday: read the new numbers, list reorders, list markdown candidates, draft the supplier email. Nothing is ordered or discounted until you say so.

You stay in charge

Luminair reads what you give it and drafts the plan. You know your supplier, your street and your customers, so you approve every order and every discount.

After a few Mondays, Journal holds a plain record of what you ordered, why, and how it turned out. Next season starts from that, not from memory.
