The problem

You find it on a Thursday night: a fund that could have been written for your programme. It closed on Wednesday.

Try it yourself in Luminair

Six steps. No setup beyond the AI plan you already have.

  1. 1

    Install Luminair and sign in

Download Luminair and open it. Go to Settings → Models → Add account and sign in with an AI plan you already pay for, like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

  2. 2

Make a folder for this job

In the sidebar, choose New folder… and name it “Grants”. Then choose New session in this folder. Everything for this job stays together.

  3. 3

    Bring the information in

You need: funding call, programme descriptions and impact reports. Connect Gmail, Airtable and Asana in Settings → Connectors, or export the files and drag them into the chat.

  4. 4

    Ask for the result

Paste this into the session, or say it in your own words:

Here is a funding call. Does it fit our youth programme? List what they want that we have not got, then draft the 500 word summary.
  5. 5

    Get a second opinion

Pick a different model in the model picker and ask it to check the first answer:

Read this as the funder. Where are we claiming something our documents do not show?
  6. 6

    Make it repeat

Open Flows → New and add the steps: Read the funding call and our documents → Score the fit and list the gaps → Draft the narrative and a deadline list. Choose when it runs, like every Monday at 09:00. Nothing is sent or changed until you approve it.

How it plays out

Teach it who you are

Create a Grants folder with your programme descriptions, impact reports and past applications. Save the facts you repeat most in Journal: numbers served, budget, outcomes.

Check the fit, then draft

Paste in a funding call and ask how well it fits and what is missing. For the ones worth it, ask for a first draft in the funder's format using only your own material.

Never miss a date

A Flow lists each deadline and the steps before it: internal review, budget sign off, submission. They show up in Actions, and in your team's tracker if you connect one.

You stay in charge

A draft is a starting point. Someone who knows the programme has to check every claim and number, and make it sound like your organisation.

Reviewer feedback goes into Journal after every round, so each application is better informed than the last one.
