A charity with a small fundraising team

Two thousand donors, and time to call twelve.

Knowing who to speak to this week, and what to say that sounds like you remember them.

Group these supporters by how engaged they have been this year. For the top group, tell me who I should call first and why.

You get

Supporters, 2026

  • Most engaged: 46 people who gave and came to an event
  • Call first: 5 who gave twice and came to the gala
  • Gone quiet: 120 who gave last year, not this year

The problem

Your supporters list is long and your team is three people. Some of those names gave once in 2021. Some come to every event. One of them could fund the whole programme if someone called at the right moment.

Try it yourself in Luminair

Six steps. No setup beyond the AI plan you already have.

  1. 1

    Install Luminair and sign in

Download Luminair and open it. Go to Settings → Models → Add account and sign in with an AI plan you already pay for, like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

  2. 2

Make a folder for this job

In the sidebar, choose New folder… and name it “Fundraising”. Then choose New session in this folder. Everything for this job stays together.

  3. 3

    Bring the information in

You need: donor list, event attendance and recent replies. Connect Zoho CRM, Gmail and Asana in Settings → Connectors, or export the files and drag them into the chat.

  4. 4

    Ask for the result

Paste this into the session, or say it in your own words:

Group these supporters by how engaged they have been this year. For the top group, tell me who I should call first and why.
  5. 5

    Get a second opinion

Pick a different model in the model picker and ask it to check the first answer:

Does any of these drafts mention a gift or detail that is not in our records?
  6. 6

    Make it repeat

Open Flows → New and add the steps: Read donor records and recent replies → Group supporters and explain the grouping → Draft a message for each group. Choose when it runs, like every Monday at 09:00. Nothing is sent or changed until you approve it.

How it plays out

Bring the picture together

Make a Fundraising folder. Add an export of donor records and event attendance, or connect Zoho CRM. Ask for a simple grouping: who is most engaged, who has gone quiet, who is new.

Write to each group properly

Ask for a draft for each group that refers to what they supported before. You edit the words so they sound like your organisation, then send from your own email.

Capture every conversation

After a donor meeting, dictate what was said. A Flow writes the summary, lists the follow ups and puts them in Actions so nothing is forgotten.

You stay in charge

The grouping is a suggestion based on your own records, not a score from an outside database. Your team decides who to approach and approves every message.

After each campaign, record what worked. Next year you plan from evidence about your own supporters, not from habit.
